It has a fully programmable RGB light ring around the charging port that displays different light effects depending on the current status (disconnected, charging, charged, etc.) to quickly determine the device status. Manual and scheduled modes offer even more flexibility to respond to the needs of the EV depending on the system. ![]() Not only does this EV Charging Station fully integrate with a Victron Energy GX device and VRM, if you have solar (within the Victron ecosystem), it can also be set up to allow excess energy from the sun to directly charge your vehicle. The charger can be fully integrated with and remotely controlled via a Victron Energy GX Device and VRM. Initial setup, configuration and monitoring is done from VictronConnect via Bluetooth and/or the integrated web interface via a WiFi Access Point or a WiFi LAN. The device is technically identical to the EV Charging Station, but with a new, modern design available in 3 colours and without the built-in LCD screen (Available on the normal model). It delivers a maximum of 22kW AC in three-phase or 7.3kW in single-phase mode. Often times it's called a "multi-line" or PBX phone cable. The EV Charging Station NS has three-phase and single-phase capabilities. There's nothing fancy about it and it's the same as an RJ11, but it has all 6 pins wired (vs the inner 4). The little display-doodad is pretty much just that -the display/config/Bluetooth interface.Īnd you can get an RJ12 from a Wally World or even radio shack (do they even have those any more :) ). You've probably already done it, but.įYI, the shunt-board is pretty much the electrical brains and heart of the whole operation. I will add an overtly over-simplistic suggestion, check the red wire (directly at the tip) and a multimeter directly against the negative lug on the shunt (both sides). If you've checked the fuse (electrically) and are certain of end-to-end continuity, there's really not much left. In your case, however, I think the unit is toast. That was, of course, after several bouts of plugging, unplugging, replugging, end-to-end and interference testing not to mention a lot of cussing :)īut in my case, the unit was "working" just giving me complete nonsense readings. And the only thing changed was plugging the short cable, having it "magically" work correctly, and then simply plugging it back where it was. ![]() It sounds ridiculous, believe me, I know :)īut it did happen. I've had my BMV act "squirrelly" with the original RJ12, then by simply connecting it with a short RJ12-run it magically started working correctly, even with the original cable. ![]()
